Snowman Poem – lessons not learned

Three Days before Christmas, as Hobbes and Calvin had feared

A trio of seven foot snowmen appeared

But far from deranged mutant killer snow goons

they smiled and stood tall on Thursday afternoon

Alexander had learned back in January

lone snowmen were easy targets, he saw fit to build three

One cool with sunglasses and two bodyguards

But a long snowman life was just not in the cards

Alexander returned and saw snowmen slain

He required the detective skills of Bruce Wayne

was it the strong winds from the storm’s fearsome roar?

or was it young punks out to settle a score?

Snowman CPR seemed to have no effect

No snowman had even a pulse when he checked

He screamed “This is why we can’t have nice things!”

as he watched snowman souls depart with angelic wings

and off in the distance was a sight awful rare

Santa going home with his sleigh and reindeer

“Worry not lad, have some holiday cheer!

Merry Christmas to you and a happy new year!”
